Checking the oil pressure and oil pressure sensor (Audi A2)

The oil level is ok. The engine oil temperature is about 80°C. Remove oil pressure switch -F1-. Connect oil pressure gauge -VAG 1342- to opening of oil pressure switch. Screw oil pressure sender -2- into oil pressure gauge -VAG 1342-.



Connect the brown wire -1- of the oil pressure gauge to ground (-). Connect voltage tester -VAG 1527V- with auxiliary leads from accessory kit -VAG 1594C- to oil pressure sender and battery positive terminal (+). The LED should not light up. If the LED is already on. replace the oil pressure sensor. Start the engine.

Instruction. Watch the probe LED and the tester while starting the engine, as the sensor set pressure can already be reached in the starting mode.

At an overpressure of 0.55...0.85 bar, the LED should light up. The LED does not light up, replace the oil pressure sensor.

Checking the oil pressure: Start the engine. Oil pressure at 2000 rpm minimum 2.0 barg.
