Risk of damage due to toothed belt slipping. Turn the crankshaft only in the direction of engine rotation. Turn the crankshaft by the timing belt bolt 2 turns in the direction of engine rotation so that the crankshaft is again close to "TDC"". Re-insert the crankshaft stopper -T10050- into the crankshaft timing belt sprocket. Rotate the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation until the crankshaft locking pin arrow locks into the sealing flange when rotating.
The camshaft hub must be secured using the diesel direct injection pump locking pin. engine -3359-. -Pos. 1- and -arrow- are ignored.
The fixing point of the high pressure pump hub can be difficult to locate. However, a slight deviation -arrow- will not affect engine operation.
The tension roller indicator -2- must be located in the middle between the tongues -1- and -3- of the support plate. A maximum of 5 mm lateral movement is allowed. If the conditions are not met, adjust the timing phases.
