Secure the edges of the housing at the top and bottom with adhesive tape to protect it from damage to the paintwork. Press mirror element -1 - using lever -80-200- above and below from mirror adjuster -arrow-.
Pull out the connectors -1- of the mirror heating elements from the rear of the mirror -2-. Unlock the plug connector in the bracket.
Installation
Place the mirror element on the mirror adjuster and press down on the mirror element. Insert the wires into the clips -3-. When installing the mirror element, press only on the center of the mirror.
Removing the exterior mirror housing 1. Exterior mirror housing. Removal: glass removed. Remove bolts -3-. Detach the housing upwards from the inside along the lower leading edge. Remove the housing upwards from the guides of the adjustment unit bracket. Disconnect the side turn signal connector. Remove the housing; 2. Warning light for lane assist in the driver's side exterior mirror -K233-; 3. Bolt. 1 Nm; 4. Mounting the mirror adjuster; 5. Turn signal lamp in exterior mirror, driver's side -L131-
Unlock the case
Press the housing -1- along the lower front edge from the inside upwards towards the lower part of the adjustment unit mounting and pull it back slightly from the latches -arrows-.
Installation
When installing, insert the guides correctly into the brackets -arrows b- to secure the locking lugs -arrows a-.
The front edge of the housing should be connected in the fastening to the lower part.
Removing the mirror adjuster mount
Remove the door trim. Remove the trim and tweeter bracket. Disconnect connectors -4- and -5-. Remove the bushing -2- from the rear view mirror seal. Remove the fastening hinges from the door in the area of the exterior mirror. Remove bolts -3-.
Remove the mirror adjustment device -1- and at the same time lead the wiring harness out through the hole in the body.
Installation
Install the rear view mirror seal. Install the tweeter cover and bracket. Install the door trim.
Removing the mirror adjustment device
Remove the mirror element. Remove bolt -2- of mirror adjuster-1-.
Disconnect el. connector -2- of the mirror adjustment device.
Installation
Insert the mirror adjuster with an audible lock into the mirror mount.
