Opening and closing the hood (Audi A8 D2)

To unlock the hood, pull out the handle located on the side pillar to the left under the instrument panel - the hood will be released from the locking device and lifted up under the action of the spring, at the same time, the pull handle will appear in the radiator grille.

To open the hood should be slightly lifted and pulled by the handle in the direction of the arrow - the safety hook will be released.

Raise the hood and open it fully. The hood is held open by gas-filled struts.

To close, grasp the hood on the side where the gas pressure stop is located. Pull the hood down until the counter force of the gas-filled stop is overcome, release the hood and let it close freely - no need to press.
