Examination
Place the shift lever in neutral position.
Check that the battery is fully charged.
Using additional wires, connect terminal 30 (thick wire) and terminal 50 (thin wire) to the positive battery terminal. If at the same time the starter drive gear moves forward, but the starter motor does not rotate, then either the starter motor is faulty or the contacts of the traction relay are burnt.
If the starter gear does not move forward, then the traction relay has failed and must be replaced.
Withdrawal
Remove the starter.
Unscrew the nut and disconnect the wire from the starter motor to the lower contact of the traction relay.
Unscrew the screws and remove the traction relay from the starter.
Installation
Apply a thin layer of sealant to the surface of the traction relay mating with the starter F (pic. 14.27).
Hook the anchor of the traction relay to the control lever, then screw in the screws that secure the traction relay to the starter.
Connect the starter motor wire to the bottom contact of the traction relay and secure it.
Check the operation of the traction relay.
Install starter.
