Attention! Do not change a wheel if there is a risk of being hit by a passing vehicle. On roads with heavy traffic, try to stop on the side of the road or in "pocket". Beware of passing cars - they are easy to miss, carried away by work.
Preparation
In the event of a tire puncture, stop as soon as possible.
Stop the vehicle on firm ground, if possible, and away from passing traffic.
Turn on the hazard warning lights if necessary.
If you have a warning triangle, put it up to warn other drivers of your accident.
Engage first or reverse gear (on models with automatic transmission, set the gearshift lever to the position "PARK") and apply the parking brake.
Wedge the wheel on the other side of the car diagonally to the one being replaced. Suitable stones can be used for this.
On soft ground, place a board under the jack.
1. Spare wheel, jack and wheel wrench are stowed under the luggage compartment floor.
2. Using the hook from the tool kit, remove the wheel trim cap.
3. Loosen the scaffolding bolts one-half turn each. For safety, place a wedge under the opposite wheel - a couple of decent stones will do for this.
4. Place a jack under the sill reinforcement closest to the wheel being changed (the jack cannot be placed under other threshold points), leaning on the hard surface of the road. Rotate the jack handle clockwise until the wheel is off the road.
5. Turn away bolts of fastening of wheels and remove a wheel. Having unscrewed the first bolt, wrap the guide pin to facilitate the installation of the spare wheel. Place the removed wheel under the threshold for insurance in case the jack breaks.
6 Install the spare wheel and tighten the bolts. Slightly tighten the bolts with a 'balloon' wrench and lower the car. Tighten the bolts securely in the sequence indicated on the decorative cap. Stow the damaged wheel in the spare wheel compartment. Please note that the wheel bolt tightening torques must be checked as soon as possible.
Remove wedges from under vehicle wheels.
Put the jack and tools in their places.
Check the pressure in the installed wheel. If it is too low and you do not have a pump or compressor with you, drive at a minimum speed to the nearest garage to inflate the tire to the required pressure.
Repair the damaged wheel as soon as possible.
Note: Using a special spare wheel with a reduced size ("dokatka") requires certain conditions to be met. A wheel of this type is intended for use in case of emergency and should not be used for its intended purpose further than to the nearest tire service. If this type of wheel is used, the vehicle speed must not exceed 1000 km/h. also avoid sudden acceleration. turns and braking. Except that the spare wheel of this type is already conventional. it is also smaller in diameter, so take into account the reduced ground clearance when driving on bumpy roads.
