Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery.
2. Remove the brake master cylinder as described paragraph 10.
3. Remove the brake booster.
4. Disconnect the hydraulic tube from the rear of the clutch master cylinder as described in chapter 6. Lay out a rag to collect spilled liquid.
5. On left-hand drive models, remove the screw securing the pedal bracket, which is located on the motor shield at the rear of the engine compartment, behind the servo mounts.
6. Remove the panels under the front panel to access the base of the steering column.
7. Turn the steering wheel so that the wheels are in the straight ahead position. Lock the wheel in this position for the duration of the procedure.
8. Turn away a nut of a through bolt of fastening of the hinge in the basis of a steering column to the steering mechanism. Turn the bolt half a turn and remove it from the hinge clamp.
9. Tie the lower section of the steering column with wire to the upper section so that they do not separate when the column is removed. Warning. Do not split the steering column when removing. Do not move the wheels before installing the steering column, otherwise the position of the contact group of the airbag will be knocked down and the operation of the ABS system will be impaired.
10. Pull the hinge of the steering column from the shaft of the steering mechanism and move the hinge to the side.
11. Release the brake light contact sensor from the mounting bracket and take it aside. If provided, disconnect the vacuum control valves from the brackets above the pedal box and move them aside.
12. On petrol models, disconnect the cable from the accelerator pedal as described in chapter 4A.
13. Turn off a nut of fastening of a pedal knot to a motor board and take out knot from under the front panel. Try not to damage the immobilizer control unit.
14. On models with the right steering position, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the control lever of the servo booster rod to the left of the clutch pedal. Remove the brake pedal from the pedal assembly.
15. On models with the left steering arrangement remove clamps and take out an axis of pedals. Remove the brake pedal from the pedal assembly.
16. Inspect removed components, worn or damaged - replace.
Installation
5. Apply a coat of multi-purpose grease to the sliding surfaces. Further, the assembly operation is performed in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following:
- A) Do not remove the wire connecting both sections of the steering column together before installing the hinge on the steering shaft.
- b) Do not tighten the pedal bracket nut before installing the brake booster.
- V) Tighten all fasteners to the prescribed torque.
- G) Install the accelerator cable as described in chapter 4A.
- d) Install the brake booster as described in paragraph 12.
- e) Install the brake master cylinder as described in paragraph 10.
- and) Install and adjust the brake light switch as described in paragraph 17.
- h) Install the cruise control vacuum valves.
- And) Bleed the clutch and brake hydraulic systems as described in paragraph 2 and chapter 6 respectively.
