Order of execution
1. Remove the turn signal housing.
2. Remove the bumper (chapter Body parts).
3. Unscrew the two fixing screws at the top of the lock support plate; the other two are under the headlight.
4. Pull the headlight forward.
5. At the back of the headlight, disconnect both multi-pin connectors.
Headlight disassembly
If the headlight cover is damaged or the reflector has become dull, you do not need to immediately change the entire headlight. Both parts can be purchased as spare parts. To install them, you need to disassemble the dismantled headlight.
1. Remove the rubber diaphragm at the top of the diffuser from the clips.
2. Wring out all fixing clips on perimeter of a plafond of a headlight.
3. Remove diffuser and sealing rubber.
4. Carefully wring out and remove the chrome diaphragm around the reflector.
5. Remove the reflector. For this:
6. If the headlight does not have a fog lamp, carefully press the reflector out of the brackets.
7. If the headlight has a fog light, turn both set screws until the reflector can be removed by hand.
8. At the bottom of the fulcrum (connection with dimmer motor) the reflector is removed from the grooves as follows:
9. Turn right servomotor (left headlight) or left (right headlight) and in this way remove it from the case.
10. Remove the servomotor obliquely from the headlight housing and press it out of the grooves on the reflector.
11. After assembly, adjust the headlight.
Tip: Headlight lenses and reflectors do not have to be bought from the Audi parts store. Related products stores get them directly from the manufacturer (Bosch or Valeo).
