Cable «gas» — replacement (Audi 80 B4)

Cable «gas», which is driven by the accelerator pedal and throttle valve, is very sensitive to kink. When working in the engine compartment, be careful with the removed cable «gas» and do not allow laying at an angle dangerous for its condition (see illustration 5.0).



1. Remove cable clamps «gas» and a lock washer for fastening the cable sheath.

2. Remove an upholstery in space for legs of a driver's side of salon.

3. Disconnect the cable «gas» from the accelerator pedal lever.

4. Squeeze out the rubber seal on the dividing wall between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment, through which the cable is pulled «gas». Feed the seal from the engine compartment into the passenger compartment.

5. Pull out the rope «gas». Installing the cable «gas» in place, be careful not to kink the cable.

6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal.

7. Move the throttle lever to the position «Full throttle».

8. Install the lock washer of the cable sheath into the corresponding notch on the counterholder.

With the accelerator pedal fully depressed, play on the throttle lever must be a maximum of 1 mm.

Attention! When the battery is disconnected, adjustments made on the Mono-Motronic fuel injection system are deleted. After reconnecting the battery and restoring power, the engine will idle for a short period of time. It takes some time to restore data. The fastest data recovery occurs when making a trip lasting approximately 10 minutes.
