Replacing the air filter element (Audi 100 C3)

Air filter parts

• 1 - screw clamp;
• 2 - warm air supply hose;
• 3. - cold air supply hose;
• 4 - cold air supply pipe;
• 5 - clamping collar;
• 6 - filter element;
• 7 - filter housing;
• 8 - engine braking valve;
• 9 - fuel distributor;
• 10 - branch pipe;
• 11 - hose;
• 12 - hose from the filter to the idle speed stabilizer;
• 13 - filter cover;
• 14 - thermostat;
• 15 - thermostat

Order of execution

1. Loosen the clamp and remove the pipe.

2. Unfasten the spring clips securing the cover and remove it with the filter element.

3. Remove the element from the cover.

4. Wipe the filter housing and cover from dust and dirt.

5. Insert a new filter element into the cap.

6. Replace the cover and connect the pipe to it.
